The Massena Central boy’s hockey team hosted Norwood-Norfolk at the Massena Arena in an NAC match-up.
Brantley Adams put the Raiders on the scoreboard just 6:04 into the first period on a power play goal when he connected from Tyler Young. At the 10:11 mark, Anthony Cortese, assisted by Zach Robert and Grayson Phillips upped the score 2-0. Kaden Pickering finished a play set up by Zeb Brown and put N-N on the board. Cortese answered back with power play goal set up by Robert and Young with 1:00 left in the first.
Ian Wilson scored his first goal of the season in the second period at the 4:55 mark to put the Raiders ahead 4-1. Late in the second, Phillips connected from Young to give the Raiders a four-goal lead.
Early in the third, Kyle Bent finished a play set up by Tristan Harvey to give N-N another goal to put the score at 5-2. With 10 minutes left in regulation play, Maddox Merry scored his first goal of the season with help from Jordan Hart.
Conner Paquin had 27 saves in the winning effort for Massena while Brandon Richards turned aside 24 shots for N-N.
