Network Specialist

Division: Saint Regis Mohawk Tribal Gaming Enterprises

Salary: $23.35 per hour

Status: Non-exempt, hourly

Summary:

The Gaming Network Specialist reports to the Gaming Network Manager. The Gaming Network Specialist is responsible for the technical compliance of all Class II and Class III gaming systems that utilize electronic media in the implementation of the game, to the Indian Gaming Regulatory Act, the Tribal-State Compact between the Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe and the State of New York, the Saint Regis Mohawk Tribal Gaming Ordinance, the National Indian Gaming Commission Minimum Internal Control Standards and the Saint Regis Mohawk Tribal Gaming Commission Tribal Internal Control Standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Ensure all Class II and Class III gaming machines meet the  appropriate requirements specific to the Class of gaming.

Read, understand and utilize the report from the independent  test laboratory in ensuring the gaming machines we have in this jurisdiction  are the same as the devices that were tested.

Have regular communication with the gaming laboratories and have  personal contacts within each laboratory with whom you can call upon when the  Commission has questions.

Maintain a system for all incoming game media to ensure they are  properly tested.

Ensure there is accurate accountability for all game media in  the possession of the Tribal Gaming Commission.

Keep abreast of all the notifications from manufacturers and  test laboratories on game media revocations, obsolescence and updates.  

Assist the Tribal Gaming Commission Inspector Department and  Audit Department when required.

Installs and maintains local area network hardware and software,  including servers, peripherals, network nodes, terminals and wiring.  

Coordinates installation of hardware and software by others.  

Designs and Maintains Active Directory

Understands and has expertise in TCP/IP

Deploys and maintains enterprise anti-virus program.  

Provides technical advice as required for system planning.  

Identifies, researches, and resolves technical problems.  

Monitors and maintains network security.

Coordinates third party maintenance for network hardware,  software and telecommunications services.

Adheres all policies and procedures outlined in the Saint Regis  Mohawk Tribe Personnel Policy especially computer usage policy.  

Other duties as assigned by TGC Management.

Qualification Requirements:

Must be a minimum 18 years of age

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to  perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are  representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.  

Must obtain and maintain a New York State certification and  Saint Regis Mohawk Tribal Gaming License.

Education and/or Experience:

3 to 5 years of experience in information technology and network  architecture

Strong Information technology background

Strong written and oral communication and reporting skills  

Organized and responsive

Minimum Certification of Associate’s degree in Computer Science  and Network Technology or equivalent from a two-year college or technical  school; three to five years of experience in Windows Operating Systems, MS  Office and Windows Server

Maintain a courteous demeanor with all patrons, employees and  management of the gaming facilities and with other Tribal Gaming employees  

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to identify and report practical problems dealing with a variety of variables and situations. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
