Salmon River Downs Massena 43-39

Massena - The Salmon River Girls Varsity Basketball Team defeated the Massena Lady Red Raiders 43-39. The Salmon River Shamrocks started off the 1st quarter of the match slowly, but as the 1st quarter went on, the Shamrocks started picked up the pace but the Lady Red Raiders reacted quickly and kept the game close.

The 2nd quarter was similar to the first with the Shamrocks offense battling to up the score while the Lady Red Raiders offense was consistent, ending the 1st half at the score of 22-20.

At the beginning of the 3rd quarter, the Massena offense was more consistent with putting up points, but once they gained the lead, Salmon River came back quickly to take back the lead.

Going into the 4th quarter, the Salmon River Shamrocks started the scoring and didn’t look back. The Massena Lady Red Raiders weren’t going to be beat that easily though and fought hard to tie up the score, but an attempted crossover was snagged by Jaiden Mitchell where she took it down and converted it into a 3 point shot which put the Shamrocks up 43-39 to close out the game.

Shamrock’s Abby Kelly put up 23 pointers to lead all scorers of the match While Aryanna Jacobs tallied 18 points and Marissa Manley chipped in 12 points for the Lady Red Raiders.
