SUMMARY: The Hotel Sales manager is responsible for strategic direction, management and top line revenues for the hotel. Responsible for working directly with the Director of Hotel Operations in creating a clear and credible vision for the hotel, understanding market mix, structures and systems to achieve strategic goals and maximize revenues.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:
Exhibits a friendly, helpful and courteous manner when dealing with the guests and fellow associates
Responsible for consistently improving the guest service experience at the Akwesasne Mohawk Hotel/Casino
Responsible for developing and implementing the total sales and marketing effort of the hotel which includes room sales and banquet sales.
Responsibilities for securing new accounts, maintain existing accounts and executing sales and marketing strategies to maximize the profitability of the hotel while maintaining guest satisfaction.
Develop and maintain relationships with key clients in order to produce group business.
Monitoring and analyzing local competition and market trends.
Continually assessing performance against budget, goals, and guest satisfaction standards.
Develops hotel level tactical sales and marketing plans to support overall system wide plans/strategies and programs.
Functions as a liaison with community organizations, committees.
Must be knowledgeable if not experienced in all areas of sales, including but not limited to, outside/direct sales calls, tele-prospecting, cold call, tours, sales blitz, direct mail campaigns, competitive analysis, trade shows, and sales presentations.
Interaction with guests and associates is expected in our efforts to promote exceptional satisfaction with their hotel experience.
A proactive attitude and a desire to learn are a must and hands-on work will be an important part of this position.

Must be able to respond calmly and handle many customer demands in a fast paced environment.
Must be able to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays as necessary.
Superior customer service skills required.
Professional appearance and demeanor required.
Must possess excellent time management skills and must be self-motivated and results oriented.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Manages associates in the Hotel Sales area and indirectly supervises the Sales staff. The Hotel Sales Manager will be responsible for the overall direction, coordination and evaluation of this unit. The Hotel Sales Manager will carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Associates Degree or a minimum of two years experience in the Hospitality sales field required.
A working knowledge of the Northern New York area is preferred.
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Office 97, Outlook, Excel, and LMS system knowledge.
Experience with hotel systems is considered an asset.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job with or without reasonable accommodation. While performing the duties of this job, the associate is frequently required to stand at a fixed work station for long periods of time. The associate must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an associate encounters while performing the essential functions of this job with or without reasonable accommodation. The position exists in a casino work environment where there is occasional exposure of the associate to noise and cigarette smoke from the casino floor.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Must obtain and maintain a St. Regis Mohawk tribal gaming work permit, which requires a background check to be used solely for employment purposes. Failure to disclose required information will result in rescinding the job offer. Successful candidates for employment must submit to and pass a drug test for illegal substances prior to employment being confirmed. In case of a positive result, the candidate is not eligible for employment with the Akwesasne Mohawk Casino or Mohawk Bingo Palace. Employment will not begin until process is complete.
