A Voice from the Eastern Door

To Indian Time:

I would like to thank all the people who saved me from myself. November 2012 marks my one-year anniversary of being clean of Oxy’s, and if it weren’t for my family and those special people coming into my life to save me while I was on the path of self-destruction, I know I would not be here today.

To my parents and sisters for sticking by my side through my whole ordeal of home detoxification, I am forever thankful.

To the women who came to my parents’ rescue when your help was so needed a great big thank you. To Dr. Young, the Home Care Nurses and the CHN’s, your help did not go unrecognized.

To Emmy Mitchell, a great big Nia:wen Kowa for believing in me. You and your crew without a doubt saved me from myself. You all helped get me back on the path I needed to be on and I will be forever grateful for that.

Teio, Jo-Jo and Justin, no words can express the gratitude and respect I have for you guys. I have not only gained a great support group but another family I can walk with and work at making them proud of me. I look forward to the day I can and will “pay it forward.”

Junior David and crew Thanks for stepping up to help me and showing me the way.

Last but not least, I thank the Creator for giving me this second chance at life. Allowing me to prove to myself and others that I can be a better person. I grow stronger as the days go by, taking life one step at a time and look forward to the future.

A message to all those still using, there is hope. You can get off this drug, reach out for the help and stop hiding.
