A Voice from the Eastern Door

Cornwall Major Midget Colts are 1st in the Eastern division

The season started in Winchester with a big win, 8-0 against the North Dundas Demons. Samuel Dussault had the shutout for the Colts - thanks to some solid play on the blue line by Colin McDonald and Jeff Dobson, while Alex Primeau and Brian Landry each scored 2 goals to lead the offensive charge. Other goals went to Alexis Roy, Chris Wert, Daniel Pilon and Brock Dazé.  During that sequence the Colts had to face the South Stormont Select, a team that released goalie Joey Lamarche. The Colts took Lamarche and he led the Colts to back-to-back wins on his former team by scores of 5-3 and 6-3!!  Ryan Thomas, Colin Allaire and Kris Villeneuve were able to turn on the red light behind the South Stormont goalie for their 1st goal of the season in these two games!!

The only loss came against South Dundas in a game filled with penalties. The loss was costly to the Colts when Max Paquette fell to a shoulder injury during the game. Captain Alexis Roy had 2 goals and an assist in the 7-5 loss.

The Colts had win #4 in Athens. Dazé scored twice while Kyle Howes got his first point of the season on a beautiful pass. Howes was also a pillar on the blue line keeping the front of his net clear of opponents. The Colts took the game by a score of 6-2.

Game 6 was win #5 for the Colts, a 6-1 decision in Cornwall against North Leeds. The visitors scored in the 1st minute of the game, but Sam Dussault stood tall between the pipes after this goal, while Allaire and Dazé scored twice and Kyle Quesnel picked up his 3rd assist of the season to lead the offensive charge.

The Colts will be in Kemptville over the weekend for a tournament and they will be welcoming back Mikael Dobson on the blue line!
