A Voice from the Eastern Door
Ann Elizabeth Lazore-Elward, age 68, died October 27, 2012 in Plattsburg, NY. She was born February 3, 1944 in Ontario, Canada, the daughter of Elizabeth Papineau and Louis Lazore. Ann married Bernard Elward at the St. Regis Church with Rev. Michael Jacobs officiating on September 28, 1963.
She is survived by her husband Bernard of 49 years, her children Timothy & Rhonda Elward, James Elward, Jeff Elward, Lanora Elward, John & Roxy Elward, by 12 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and her siblings Robert Lazore and Marion Lazore.
She was predeceased by her siblings Thomas Lazore of Cornwall Island and Julia Francis of St. Regis.
She battled a long illness of COPD and fought hard. She had lots of good memories of growing up in St. Regis with family, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. She loved the country and was very content. She loved her children with all she had. She loved to play cards, “Ace to King” and Texas-Hold-Em. She loved to sew, enjoyed boat rides on the St. Lawrence River with her sister and loved to play with her grand babies. She was loved by all and will be missed by many.
