A Voice from the Eastern Door

Swamps 2012 Ladies Car Care Clinic

Last Wednesday, Casey Swamp opened his garage to a group of ladies hoping to fill them with valuable information about cars, and that’s exactly what he did. From service lights, fluids, brakes and tires, to filters and what to do in an emergency, if you didn’t get in on the clinic this round, Marissa Vickers, marketing/customer service for Swamp’s, hopes to have more.

This is the second ladies car care clinic because as Casey said, “The first one went really well. It didn’t get done until 9pm, the questions just kept coming.” It seemed everyone had a light bulb moment.

Ladies, Swamp’s is great because it is an AskPatty.com Certified Female Friendly® Retailer, which means Swamp’s creates a safe and comfortable environment where women feel welcome, and they make the experience of purchasing and maintaining her vehicle a pleasant one. Ask Patty trained and certified retailers are held to a high level of customer satisfaction for women consumers.

The Ladies Car Care Clinic was free, which is usually not the case with this type of event. Casey donated his time and his shop and also raised money for breast cancer, donating the money raised at the clinic to the Akwesasne Cancer Support Group. Edith and George Adams accepted the check and said, “On behalf of the Akwesasne Cancer Support Group we would like to thank Swamp’s Performance.” ACSG is always looking for members. Casey chose them because he knew the money would stay local, and also told the Adams, “If you need anything, just let me know.”

At the clinic, each lady received a gift bag with plenty of goodies, including donations from Adirondack AutoParts - 12 hand warmers, Autozone - mini funnels, air fresheners and ice scrapers, AskPatty - Certified Female Friendly booklet, Maurices – Coupons and pink bags and several other items.

Advance AutoParts donated the socket set & mechanic tool kit. Sesir Herne won the 24 pc tool set, which she donated back to Swamp’s and will be put towards the Basket Drive. Adirondack AutoParts donated the Snap-On 6 pc pink screwdriver set, which Val Delaronde won. Angela Shantie donated pink cupcakes for the event.
