CKON ANNOUNCEMENT

CKON is a non-profit organization, which provides radio programming that is timely, accurate, positive, entertaining, factual, and non-partisan to the Akwesasne community and surrounding areas.

Funds raised by CKON flow back to the community of Akwesasne through donations to community members, events, and programs, etc. and to administer the daily business operations of CKON.

CKON radio is overseen by a Board of Directors called the Akwesasne Communication Society.

The current Board of Directors is comprised of the following members from Akwesasne;

There is one vacancy on the Board of Directors.

On July 30, 2012, the Akwesasne Communication Society amended its Constitution and By-laws. According to newly amended section 5 of the Constitution and By-laws, board members will be elected at the annual general assembly through majority vote by those in attendance and the board member will have a two year term of office with staggering end dates so as to maintain continuity and corporate memory of the Akwesasne Communication Society.

Therefore, to maintain continuity and corporate memory, the terms of the current Board of Directors of Akwesasne Communication Society will be valid until the following dates:

One (1) vacancy (June 2014)

The Akwesasne Communication Society will be holding a general special meeting with the purpose to fill one (1) vacancy on the Board of Directors, at which time said Board of Directors will then continue to operate as the reaffirmed and authorized Board of Directors and officers overseeing the daily operations of CKON.
