A Voice from the Eastern Door
The Longyear Museum of Anthropology, in Alumni Hall on the Colgate University campus will exhibit contemporary work by sixteen artists in various styles and media including painting, prints, photography, computer graphics, beadwork, and sculpture in stone, clay. They include: Sis Falcone, Katsitsionni Fox, Tom Huff, Arnold Aron Jacobs, Joseph Jacobs, Peter B. Jones, Pauline Owisokon Lahache, Towanna Miller, Shelley Niro, Terrill Hooper O’Brien, Roger C. Parish, Erwin Printup, Jr., Natasha Smoke Santiago, Dianne Schenandoah, Leah Shenandoah, Carson Waterman.
In this exhibition, some artists interpret the story literally, and often dramatically. Others focus on the visual symbols of the Creation. Still others consider the relevance of Skywoman in 21st century Haudenosaunee life.
