A Voice from the Eastern Door
After taking an early 14-0 lead, the Raiders relaxed their guard and the Larries capitalized on it until Massena took back the control.
“I was pleased with the way we came out and were able to put some points on the board. We got a bit too comfortable with our small lead and allowed SLC back into the game. At the half, we challenged our guys to come out and play the way we needed to play to win and our guys responded by shutting them down and being able to move the ball on offense”, commented coach Anthony Diagostino after the Red Raiders 27-6 win over SLC at the Mike Nicholas Field.
Junior Conner Paquin put Massena on the board 4:27 into the game when he ran 14 yards for a touchdown. He ended with a total of 96 yards on 19 carries. Jeremiah Reagan continues to improve with nine carries for 76 yards for two touchdowns. Senior Jordy Mitchell ran 62 yards on 18 carries and contributed a touchdown to help in the 27-6 Raider win.
The only points for the Larries came when Devin Euto completed a pass to David Plante for a 34 yard touchdown pass and reception on a fourth and nine play.
The Raiders will host the unbeaten Potsdam Sandstoners on Saturday in their Hall of Fame Game at 1:30 p.m.
