A Voice from the Eastern Door
After working hard on his speech, little brother has been talking really clear. He still has his cute mix ups with his t’s and k’s. When he says them they sound like d’s and g’s. A few others too, but you get the idea of what he is trying to tell you. Now that’s he’s got the hang of expressing himself and others understand him, he’s begun to open up to anyone who will listen. He never was too shy, so he makes us laugh with the things we catch him talking about. Here are twenty of my favorite quotes from this week. This is comes from both the boys.
.) “Bubba I done!” little brother yelling from the bathroom of anywhere. For umm assistance.
.) “Hear me Mama! Did u? MAMA!” As expected I am not allowed all alone bathroom breaks. They are both talking to me through the door.
.) “Where’d my brudder go.” Big brother is out of little Brother’s eye sight.
.) “Stop touching my legos!” Big brother
.) “If you just tell me the truth I won’t be mad.” Little brother has hidden a toy on big brother.
.) “But I’m not tired!” From both each night.
.) “I did brush my teeth. You don’t have to check!” Big brother always said this but now little brother has joined him.
.) “My bus, my bus! Huh not my bus.” Little brother daily.
.) “Can we go to tota mas?” Code for as soon as you take us there we’re going to sneak out the back door to aunties!
.) “When we go to Walmart I’m bringing my own money so you can’t say no.” Then as we checkout big brother sadly looks at us and tells us he forgot his money at home. Classic scam.
.) “I need two.” Little brother talking us into buying two suckers, two cars, two bug juices because he likes to bring home something to big brother.
.) “Me too!” Grandma, tota girl or auntie are planning on picking up big brother but little brother gets to tag along.
.) “Otay what one tota? Tota ma, tota girl, gramma, or little gramma?” Little brother deciding which toys to bring depending on which grandmas house we are off to visit.
.) “I’m tired. And I feel like I have a headache.” I just asked big brother to clean up.
.)”But I don’t wanna go to stool.” Little brother makes me laugh. He doesn’t want to go to school but he wants to ride the bus.
.)”They don’t have steak or ham” when I asked little brother why he won’t eat at school.
.) “I get big big big! You get small small small” little Brother’s take on his growth spurt.
.) “Lorax! I be my bed so diet and sleep.” Little brother wants to watch the movie Lorax and is telling me he’ll be so quiet and fall asleep.
.) “I gotta go POOP!” Loudly anywhere we are. Public, home, on a train.
.) “I don’t like when my brother cries. I don’t like when he takes my favorite toys, but I REALLY don’t like his crying so that’s why I just give him my stuff.”
