Poker Room Manager Bryan Garrow states, “I have seen Bad Beat Jackpot go higher but it is typically at larger properties. When it reaches this high at a smaller venue it definitely increases our guests’ chance to win it.”
In hopes that the elusive jackpot pays soon, guests have been visiting more frequently. “Our poker players are anticipating the jackpot will go out soon but they are not sure when – it makes for a lot of excitement in the Poker Room,” states Mr. Garrow. There is no doubt there is a buzz around the eight tables each and every night.
In addition to playing Texas NO LIMIT HOLD ‘EM, the Akwesasne Mohawk Casino Poker Room will play multiple games as long as there is a request and minimum number or people to participate. Other popular Poker Room games include Pineapple, Crazy Pineapple, Omaha, Stud, Razz, and Draw Poker.

Akwesasne Mohawk Casino –The Akwesasne Mohawk Casino is pleased to announce the addition of two new games to the Table Games roster. The first to arrive in New York State, both Mississippi Stud and Blackjack Switch officially started at the Akwesasne Mohawk Casino on Friday, August 3, 2012. Director of Table Games Charlie Otto states “these games are unique to New York State and we are proud to host them at the Akwesasne Mohawk Casino.”
Both of these games are exciting for our guest because they offer variety as well as an opportunity for our guests to have more impact on their individual hands – especially for Blackjack Switch. The goal for the Table Games has always been to provide our valued guests with exciting entertainment where they will receive excellent guest service.
CLASSIC CAR SHOW WINNERS
Akwesasne Mohawk Casino – The First Annual Classic Car Show on Saturday, August 4, 2012 saw over 75 vehicles from as far as Burlington, VT come and compete for one of 10 classes ranging from Retro to Elvis Class. In the end, BEST IN SHOW went to Glenn Hollinger from Massena with a 1955 Thunderbird. People’s Choice went to Chip and Kathy Button from Lake Clear, NY.
Promotions/Special Events Manager Ashley Thompson commented, “We had a good turnout for being our first year. The cars were simply amazing and we can’t wait to do this again next year.” This year’s inaugural event could not have been done without the hard work and knowledge of the committee and its members. The committee, comprised of members of the Massena Chamber of Commerce as well as an enthusiast from Lake Clear, worked diligently over a four month period to ensure the event went off without a hitch. “With the addition of the hotel and expansion, next year’s car show should be bigger and better than ever,” noted Ms. Thompson.
