Akwesasne Aces Volleyball Tournament

The Akwesasne Aces Volleyball team recently held a benefit CO-ED Volleyball Tournament this past weekend at Snye Recreation.  With a total of 6 teams participating, a round robin format was implemented guaranteeing each team a minimum of 5 games before playoffs.  The top four teams Aroniaies Herne, Ryan King, Karla Cook and eventual champ Karah Richmond sweated it out to get to the top.  The championship round saw Ryan Kings’ team square off against the heavy hitters of Karah Richmond’s team.  The final score was 25-22 with Karah’s team prevailing in a defensive battle, highlighted with spectacular digs and formidable blocking by both teams.

  Congratulations to the champions and a special THANK YOU to all the participants in the tournament who braved the extreme heat to benefit the Akwesasne ACES efforts in competing in next weekend’s Aboriginal Volleyball Tournament hosted by Anowarakowa, July 27-30, 2012.
