Annual Salary: Pay Band 5 $34,736.81 - $42,766.21

POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the general direction of the Director of Nursing and the direct supervision of the RN/RPN, the Personal Support Worker will assist residents in all activities of daily living and will assist in providing for the overall well-being of the residents and meeting the goals of the facility.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Personal Support Worker Certificate with 1-year work experience in caring for the elderly in a Long Term Care setting. Compliance with MCA Public Health policies required by obtaining Hepatitis, Influenza Vaccine and submitting recent TB results required. Must have updated certifications in First Aide and CPR Level C.

Must be able to lift and transfer residents and able to work under conditions requiring constant standing, walking, bending and stretching. Must be able to work some weekends and holidays in accordance with the scheduling needs of the facility. Ability to communicate well with others; Dependable and honest; able to understand and maintain confidentiality. Effective communication and problem-solving skills. Mohawk language an asset.
