A Voice from the Eastern Door
The St. Regis Mohawk Tribe’s Office for the Aging has received its allotment of Farmer’s Market Coupons for the 2012 season. The purpose of the program is to promote increased use of locally grown fresh fruits and vegetables and support local farmers. A Farmer’s Market is an assembly of individual local farmers – selling what they grow. Coupons are issued in the form of checks, which are a booklet of five (5) $4.00 checks worth $20. Seniors may pick up their coupons by stopping by the Senior Center from 8 am to 4 pm Monday through Friday. Income eligibility guidelines apply. For further information please contact the center by calling 358-2963.
