Elda Cook of Akwesasne made a special trip to California to surprise her only surviving sister, Agnes Trail for her 90th birthday party. Since she was in California for a few days, Agnes, Elda, and Michelle Trail decided to visit Pechanga Casino in Temecula and Palm Springs before Elda had to fly back to New York. The Executive Assistant to the Chairman of Pechanga, Terrie Brown, greeted the Mohawk women before entering the casino with a big bouquet of flowers. Mark Macarro, the Tribal Chairman of Pechanga, later came up to their room to welcome them personally.

A big thank you goes out to Elda Cook’s son, Ray Cook, for coordinating the special greeting for his mother, aunt and cousin. And a special thank you to Mark Macarro and Terrie Brown for all their hospitality. It’s a birthday Agnes Trail will never forget.
