SRMS Graduations 2012

The St. Regis Mohawk School celebrated two graduations on Friday. Pre-kindergarten students graduated at 9:30 a.m. followed by the 5th grade class at noon. The Pre-K, wearing white sashes, walked in to graduation song, “Pomp and Circumstance” and lined up on risers posing for dozens of pictures. They sang three songs: “I Like You, There’s No Doubt About It”, “I Wish I Had A Little Red Box” and “It Is Time To Say Goodbye,” coupled with dance moves, to adoring parents. Principle Sharlee Thomas presented each student with their diploma as their name was called and they walked across a podium. Refreshments were served afterward.

At noon the 5th grade class marched out to the tent with “Pomp and Circumstance” playing for them as well. Many students wore traditional clothing. There were opening remarks and Rowisonkies Barnes sang the Round Dance for the ceremony. Special awards were handed out and then the moment every student waits for - the presentation of diplomas.
