Salmon River Recognizes Students at Awards Ceremony

On Thursday May 3rd, Salmon River Central High School recognized and honored its students during the annual High School Awards Ceremony.

Superintendent Jane Collins welcomed parents and students to the event and congratulated students for their achievements. High school principal, Alison Benedict, and guidance counselors, Toni Siddon and Rachelle Hayes were on hand to present awards to students.

Salmon River graduate and local radio celebrity, Sandy Cook, graciously donated his time to emcee for the night.

To start the ceremony, valedictorian, Sean Godard and Salutatorian, Anna Kelly, were presented plaques to recognize and commemorate their achievement as the class leaders.

The following seniors received plaques for the designation of high honors during their high school career: Noah Bero, Allison Boots, Errolynn Bradley, Kara Grant, Matthew Healy, Heather Jock, Leslee Loran, Jessica McCray, Teesha Mitchell, Emma Phillips and Zoe Thompson.

The top 13 seniors will be honored at the 19th annual Academic Awards dinner on June 10th, 2012. Each student will be awarded a medal and a certificate at the ceremony.

Perfect attendance certificate for 2011- 12 was the next award to be handed out. The recipients were: grade 9- Ciera Jock, Chance Monette and Conner Walrath. Grade 10-Cody Boardway and Katrina Martin. Grade 11- Justin Jarvis and Matthew Wyble. Grade 12- Sean Godard.
