A Voice from the Eastern Door
My Friend, who was also a Daughter, Sister, Wife, Aunt, Cousin, Mother and Grandmother, I am still in disbelief of your passing, you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.
Although we have grown apart as we have become parents and grandmothers, I knew you were always there as one of my true friends. You always made me laugh with your hilarious stories. You had a way of doing that too many of your friends and family, but always having that straight down-to-earth, telling it like it is, sense of humor, you weren’t afraid of telling people like it really is.
You were there for my daughter, Kelly when she was baptized as a loving Godmother. Shortly after, you were blessed with the birth of your own daughter, Deidre, and then later blessed with the birth of a son and then two more daughters. And now, we were both blessed in becoming Totas.
Although we grew apart you were always glad to see me when we would meet around the community. Bubbles, my friend, the Creator makes choices and I guess you were one of his chosen gifts. He has ridded you of pain and suffering. The last time we talked you weren’t feeling so good and you were concerned about Basil’s health. I didn’t realize how sick you actually were until you told me that you had just gotten out of the hospital and that you were taking it easy.
I realize though that you were somewhat of a private person and a strong Mohawk woman. Your family has granted you your final wishes for your final journey and we respect you for that. Bubbles, you were there as a true friend to me and many others. You were a team player with your teammates on your softball team for many years, a hard worker raising your family as best you could, while being a loving mother to your children and teaching them to become responsible adults.
Bubbles, my friend, rest in peace. Please watch over us and we will do our best to watch over your family, and give us the strength to continue. Bubbles, my friend, you will always be in my heart and prayers. The Creator has chosen you way too early, but now you are at peace. The chosen few, free of pain and suffering, free to be with your Dad, Mom, and brother now.
Bubbles, forever in my heart and never to be forgotten, until we meet again, Bubbles my true friend, you will be missed. Love and prayers,
Your friend always,
Lisa J.
