The Akwesasne Mohawk Casino in conjunction with Local 440, Utica is looking for local talent to design the logo for this upcoming Ironworkers Festival. “There are so many talented artists within our community and I am excited to see what people submit,” states Special Events/Promotions Manager Ashley Thompson.

The winning submission will be revealed on Friday, July 20th during the Opening Ceremony. A cash prize of $500 US will also be awarded to the winning submission. Submission of the 10th Annual Ironworkers Festival hosted at the Akwesasne Mohawk Casino will have the following requirements:
Artwork must be in PDF, EPS or PSD Format
Artwork must be High-res, nothing less than 200 DPI
This upcoming Ironworkers Festival event marks the 10th year Anniversary and a full itinerary of events is planned starting Friday, July 20 with the actual competition slated for Saturday, July 21, 2012. “Being our 10th Anniversary we really want to show the community and the Ironworkers a special weekend and I think our show will be remembered for years to come,” concluded Ms. Thompson.
Last year’s competition crowned a new winner in Eric Costa from Local 301 from Tampa, Florida. He dethroned seven times event champ Chris Prophet from Local 401, Philadelphia last year and the anticipation of a rematch is strong. “Both of these men have competed for many years here and we are thrilled to have them battle here at the Akwesasne Mohawk Casino in an effort to be named the Ultimate Ironworker once again,” claims General Manager Patrick Bassney.
