Sons of the American Legion (Akwesasne) sponsor Women’s Soccer Team in South Carolina.

The Sons of the American Legion Strikers are starting their season off on the right foot. Kayla Boots and the S.A.L. Strikers belong to the Women’s Division I, indoor soccer league at the Sandhills Sports Plex indoor sports center in Columbia, S.C. Kayla has been playing both indoor and outdoor soccer since moving there 3 years ago.

With the start of a new season beginning, Kayla decided to form her own team and the Sons of the American Legion agreed to help with the sponsorship of her team. So far the SAL Strikers record is 3-0. They have 25 goals for, 4 goals against, goal differential is 21, and winning percentage is 1.000, they currently sit in first place with 9 points. There are 5 teams total in Division I.

SAL Strikers 11 – Clifford 0

SAL Strikers 7 – Traviezas 1

Gatas Salvajes is the other team that SAL Strikers have yet to play. The games are played on Monday nights.

Kayla and the SAL Strikers would like to thank Tom Francis and John Ransom of the Sons of the American Legion for the sponsorship and the team shirts. Kayla and her team are very thankful for the support.
