Division: Environment, Water Resources Program

Salary: $10.85 – 15.72 per hour  19-4099

Status: 40 hrs per week, ending September 7, 2012

Deadline: Onerahtókha/April 13, 2012

Description of Position:  The Tech will assist with gill nets, seine nets, electro fishing, and other means to collect fish resources for the purposes of species identification, population assessment and contaminant analysis. The Tech will also assist with other fisheries management related issues such as public outreach and education.

Qualifications: A 2-yr degree in Environmental Studies or related field (preferred), or 4 years of relevant experience; ability to carry heavy equipment over uneven terrain required; effective written communication skills required; ability to enter Canadian portion of Territory required; proficient in fish identification; proficient with use of identification keys; ability to learn new skills and information; ability to swim preferred, boater’s safety certificate preferred. Must be at least 21 years of age, have and maintain a valid driver’s license with a clean drivers abstract in accordance with the Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe’s Fleet Policy.
