The Massena Lady Raiders sent shock waves through the Lady Huskies basketball squad when they handed FA its first league loss with a score of 41-29 at the Massena gymnasium in NAC action.
It was a see-saw battle throughout the first three quarters until the Lady Raiders fashioned a 14-4 burst in the fourth to claim the victory and a step closer to the top spot in the Central Division.
Alisha Jacobs led all scorers with 15 points which included two three pointers, five boards and three steals for Massena. Marissa Truax made solid contributions with 10 points, 13 rebounds and three blocked shots. Marissa Manley added nine points and pulled down 13 rebounds. Kallie Barnes tallied three points and four assists. Megan Poupore and Dominique Valancius rounded out the scoring with two points each.
The Huskies were led by Morgan Fountain with 11 points and seven boards. Katie Tatro followed with eight points while Katie Lavoie netted seven points and nine rebounds. Bridget Gravel chipped in two points and Rachel Lamica added one.
The Lady Raiders Improve to 4-1 in the Division and 11-3 overall. FA slips to 5-1 in the Central and 11-3 overall.
