HOGANSBURG – Mr. James William Thomas Iserhoff, Sr., age 45, of 30 Ransom Road, passed away suddenly early Thursday morning, December 8, 2011, at Cornwall Community Hospital after suffering an attack at home.
James was born June 11, 1966 in Moose Factory, Ontario, the son of William and Lenore Cheechoo Iserhoff. He attended schools in Moose Factory. On June 11, 1999, he married Valerie Lazore of Akwesasne, in Moose Factory. They resided in Moose Factory before moving to Akwesasne four years ago.
James was a self-employed laborer, who loved to hunt, fish, and go boating. He enjoyed spending time with his family especially his grandchildren. James was a strong hearted man, who was always caring for others, he will be sadly missed.
He is survived by his wife, Valerie; his children, Tara Job of Moose Factory; Katelyn Job, James Jr. and Delmer Iserhoff, all at home; a stepson, Richard Job and his wife, Phyllis of Moose Factory; his beloved grandchildren, Breanna, Dana, Athena, Brighton, Daylen, Daysha, and Isabelle. He is also survived by his mother, Lenore Iserhoff of Moose Factory; his six sisters, Hayley Cheechoo, Laurie-Ann and George Job, Margaret and Kyle Rickard, Hannah and David Rickard, Nadine Iserhoff and Andrew Johnstone, and Kristine Job and Norman Rickard, Jr, all of Moose Factory, and many nieces and nephews.
In addition, James is survived by his mother-in-law, Elaine Lazore of Akwesasne; his father-in-law, Howard Johnson of Akwesasne, and his wife’s siblings, Sheryl Lazore, Edward Lazore, Christina and Dallas Caldwell, Jack and Jessica Johnson, and Owen and Susan Johnson, all of Akwesasne; Stephanie Johnson and Dion Oakes of Akwesasne; and Eric Johnson and Christina Sisto of Fort Covington.
He was predeceased by his father, William; and triplet step grandchildren.
Friends called at the Akwesasne Homemakers beginning Friday,
December 9, 2011 until Saturday, December 10, 2011 when his body was transferred to his hometown of Moose Factory, where funeral services will be held. Burial will follow the services in St. Thomas Anglican Cemetery in Moose Factory, Ontario.
