FUGITIVE FROM JUSTICE – A Texas man working on the construction of a hotel on the Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe’s Casino Expansion Project was sent to the St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility without bail on the night of Nov. 15 after being charged with being a fugitive from justice. Massena-based state police picked up Adan Ontizeros, 31, of 22303 Ashley Road, Katy, Texas, on the fugitive from justice warrant. He was arraigned by Massena Town Justice James M. Crandall and sent to the county jail pending a potential extradition hearing in St. Lawrence County Court. Ontizeros reportedly fled from Texas, where he is wanted on an assault and obstruction of breathing charge stemming from a domestic dispute.

UNLAWFUL POSSESSION MARIJUANA – Massena Village police charged a 15-year-old male with unlawful possession of marijuana at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday Nov. 15 at Massena Central High School. The juvenile was referred to the probation department for possible family court action.

FAILURE TO YIELD – Massena Village police ticketed Cynthia M. Jacobs, 21, of Akwesasne for failure to yield the right of way entering a roadway at 12:04 p.m. Friday Nov. 18 on South Main Street.
