Delores Herne Roberts

Delores Herne Roberts, formerly of Hogansburg, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday October 26,2011, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, surrounded by her loving family.

Delores was born in Bombay, NY on January 14, 1935 the daughter of Thomas and Louise Canadian Herne.

She attended Bombay High School and worked at the Warner Factory in Massena NY prior to joining the U.S. Air Force. After moving to Minneapolis she worked for Sears Company until her retirement. Delores married John Roberts in November 1955.

Delores is survived by her children and their spouses: Steve and Theresa Roberts, Larry and Gina Roberts, Linda and Richard Furry. By 7 grandchildren: David, Alicia, Jennifer, Brandon, Duane, Jesse, Elena and 4 great grandchildren: Hailey, Michelo, Anthony and Sunadna. She is also survived by 3 sisters: Mary Francis of St Regis Quebec, Victoria Griffiths of Florida, Debbie Grant of Fort Covington and 1 brother, Tommy Herne of Hogansburg and by many niece, nephews, cousins and friends.

She is predecased by her husband John, a son Lance in infancy. By 5 brothers: Kenneth, James, Johnny and Robert Herne and John Zachery and 5 sisters: Emma Shortsleeve, Mary Mayo, Christie Goodleaf. Mae Herne and Irene Roundpoint.

Funeral Services were held on Monday, October 31, 2011 at the Hope Temple Church. Burial services followed in Fort Snelling Veterans Cemetery. Delores was laid to rest next to her husband John.

Memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Disabled American Veterans Organization or to any charitable organization that supports our military veterans.

Funeral arrangements were through the Washburn-McReavey Funeral Home, Minnehaha Parkway, Minn.
