Salmon River Soccer teams advance to Championships

The Salmon River Girls Varsity Soccer team has moved onto the Championship game set for tonight. They played their semi-final round against the Ogdensburg Lady Blue Devils last Saturday afternoon and won by a score of 3-1. Lady Shamrock senior Karyss Terrance netted two goals during the game with the third goal made by Abby Kelly.

The Salmon River Girls Varsity Soccer team is the top seeded team in Section X Class B and will play against #2 seed Potsdam Sandstoners. Salmon River comes into the game with a league record of 7-1-0 and non-league record of 5-2-1. The Class B Championship game will start at 5:00pm and the winner of this game will advance to state playoffs.

The Salmon River Boys Varsity Soccer team advanced past the Canton Golden Bears this past Tuesday night by a score of 1-0. Shamrocks player Brady Mitchell capitalized on a direct kick and buried it past Canton goalie Jeff Hammond for the game’s only goal. Salmon River goalie Matt Healy made 10 saves during the shutout game.

The Salmon River Shamrocks boys will face off against Potsdam tonight following the Salmon River girls game at the SUNY Potsdam field. They will be playing under the lights beginning at 6:45pm.
