MCA announces new insurance company available for Kanatakon and Tsi Snaihne residents

AKWESASNE MOHAWK TERRITORY – The Mohawk Council of Akwesasne announced that a new insurance provider is now available for Akwesasne residents. The insurance protection provided by S. Gosselin Insurance will be of particular interest for individuals that are seeking optional coverage in the districts of Tsi Snaihne and Kanatakon.

In the past, community members in these two districts have had a difficult time obtaining affordable homeowners or vehicle insurance.  To address this problem, on September 24th MCA Chiefs Rachel Roundpoint and Karen Loran met with an insurance company from Huntington, Quebec, which is seeking to develop a new relationship with the Akwesasne community.

S. Gosselin Insurance Inc. is a family owned business that has recently begun offering services in Akwesasne.  The father and daughter team of Serge and Karine said they’re committed to providing professional and fair services to community members. Specializing in new insurance, the staff of Gosselin Insurance is prepared to accommodate Akwesasne’s special jurisdictional needs.

The new insurance provider will give Akwesasne residents an added choice on who they want to have insurance with—an option that many community members did not have in the past. Factoring into that choice is a desire to get the best insurance products and services created specifically to address the needs of the Akwesasne community.

The MCA has been working with the Gosselin Insurance to arrange appointment times in Akwesasne for potential or current clients to meet with them.  This will assist community members who cannot travel to Huntingdon for simple insurance needs. To schedule an individual appointment, contact Serge or Karine at (450) 264-3553, or email them at [email protected] or [email protected] .

In addition, focus group meetings have been scheduled for community members to learn more about insurance coverage that is available from Gosselin Insurance. Representatives will be on-hand to answer insurance-related questions at the Kanatakon Recreation Center on Wednesday, November 2nd and at the Tsi Snaihne Homemakers on Thursday, November 3rd. Both Meetings will begin at 6:30pm.
