St. Regis Mohwk School Grade 1 holds 'Grandparents Day'

The St. Regis Mohawk School Grade 1 classes invited grandparents of students in each of the four classes to attend a special day with their grandchildren. ‘Grandparents Day’ took place last Friday and included the students waiting on their grandparents and serving them ice tea and cookies. The students had a project to draw a picture of their grandparent along with answering the question: ‘What is a Grandparent/Tota?’

Here are their responses:

Mrs. Hetu’s Class:

Ava B.: “Someone who takes good care of you.”

Kobryn: “They smell really good.”

Curtis: “Someone who wears glasses because they need them.”

Ava J.: “Someone who lets you spend the night at their house.”

Andrew: “Someone who plays with you.”

Sebastien: “They have white hair.”

Fire: “They have gray hair.”

Phoenix: “They have wrinkly skin.”

Mrs. Thompson’s Class:

Kyren: “She plays with me.”

Joryan: “They make me brownies.”

Nevaeh: “They take me to the wooden park.”

Jerry: “He works on cars and puts them in the junkyard.”

Kadee: “They make cookies.”

Isabelle: “She takes me shopping.”

Brody: “They play cards with me.”

Lia: “She teaches me how to plant flowers.”

Klae: “They like to play bingo.”

Kanakwinetha: “They like to play games.”

Skyla: “She makes spaghetti and likes to sit on the porch.”

Vaughn: “They play cards with me.”

Carey: “They let me ride the golf cart.”

Neely: “Thy make me food and tell me funny stories.”
