The Haudenosaunee Environmental Task Force held a meeting on Tuesday, September 6, 2011 at the new Tuscarora Nation Community building. Some of the topics discussed at this meeting is how do we address global climate change in our communities; conducting cultural sensitivity training with EPA and DEC; discussion with DEC on Harvesting and gathering rights of the Haudenosaunee in our aboriginal territories; opposition to hydro-fracking; and working with other traditional councils on issues concerning the Great Lakes.
