On September 10th, 2011, the Akwesasne Mohawk Police Service was patrolling in Kanatakon and checked a parked vehicle.

In the vehicle police observed a .22 caliber “sawed-off” Ruger long gun. Spent casings were also observed in the interior of the vehicle.
Lauzon was removed from the vehicle, arrested, and taken into custody. The Ruger long gun was seized and once checked, revealed to have a chambered round and 9 live rounds in the magazine.
A search of the vehicle revealed another magazine in the centre console containing 10 live rounds of .22 caliber ammunition, and approximately 15,000 ecstasy pills with an estimated street value of more than $300,000.00.
