Akwesasne Dragonflies

“Everyone worked hard and we had a great time,” said Akwesasne Dragonflies team captain Tasha Thompson. “We competed last year as well but this year’s team was slightly different, my hopes for next year is to recruit more guys so we can make it to the medal heat.”

Thompson put the community team together; the Akwesasne Dragonflies made it through two preliminary heats that would place them 13th going into the finals. Their first heat had them clocked in at 57.49 and the second heat was 57.79. Competing in the finals the Akwesasne Dragonflies rowed their fastest time of the day with 57.14 ranking them at 10th for the day.
