Quebec MP Visits Akwesasne

The Mohawk Council of Akwesasne welcomed special guests to the community this past Monday.  Newly elected MP Anne Minh-Thu Quach (NDP - Beauharnois-Salaberry) fulfilled her promise to visit Akwesasne and brought along several Parliament staff members. Grand Chief Mike Kanentakeron Mitchell, Tsi Snaihne District Chief Karen Loran, and Kawehno:ke District Chief Brian David gave the visitors a land and boat tour of the community, emphasizing Akwesasne’s jurisdictional issues, economic plans and health needs.  MP Quach has pledged to help Akwesasne address their needs with Parliament particularly in the area of health and wellness.
