• The Mohawk Nation Council leadership met with the CBSA Liaison, James D. Marchand on Thursday at 9:30am. Mr. Marchand introduced himself and explained what his duties and responsibilities would be as the new liaison. The leadership explained the problems that the people have experienced and the discriminatory attitudes of some of the CBSA officers.

The work of the liaison may become overwhelming; however he is interested in assisting in the resolution of some of these issues. He does realize it will be a big task and knows that continued dialogue is absolutely essential on all sides.

The Mohawk Nation Council Leadership met with Paul Williams, legal counsel, on Friday, June 24th at the Mohawk Nation office to discuss the Thousand Island land claim.
