A Voice from the Eastern Door
Together we have learned about barbeque sauces for your grilling purposes as well as the best and healthiest brown hot dogs to buy. Some readers could say “the cart before the horse”, because this week the subject is buying a grill.
The thought or idea is to get the best for less and this includes a grill. Some things for you to think about when buying that grill;
Check the size carefully when you read the information ticket or pamphlet be sure to check the cooking area. The information may say a certain size but you need to visually check the size to be sure it’s what you need.
Don’t buy BTU: More BTUs/hr does not guarantee that your food will cook any faster.
Focus on features: An electronic igniter is easier and more reliable than a push button or a rotary starter. Other features to look for include a gas range. Be sure the grates are stainless steel or cast iron and check out infrared burners.
Know your stainless: Stainless steel is less prone to rusting and resists corrosion, there are different grades of stainless so do the research on the product’s website.
Think safety: Check a grill’s sturdiness, check for sharp corners and edges, check the space between the handles and the lid – you don’t want to get burned and there should be a good distance between the grates and the burners.
Some brands to look at;
Vermont Castings Signature- $950.00
Weber Genesis EP320- $850.00
Char Broil Red 463250509- $450.00
Fiesta Blue Ember FG5009- $450.00
Weber General E 3301- $800.00
The choices seem to be Weber and Charbroil in the top 10.
Good grilling to all of you.
