DANGEROUS OPERATION – Eric Montour, 34 of Akwesasne was arrested on the 31st of May, 2011. It is alleged that on the 31st of May, 2011 at approximately 2:00 a.m. he was observed by members of the Cornwall Community Police Service to be driving erratically eastbound on Second Street. Upon activating emergency equipment to stop the motor vehicle, the male quickly U-turned, hopped the curb at the corner of Water Street and Pitt Street and caused damage to a lawn. He continued over the International bridge at which time he was intercepted by members of the Akwesasne Police Department and arrested. He was charged with Dangerous Operation of a motor vehicle, Mischief Under $5000.00, and Flight from Police. Investigation revealed that the male’s Driver’s Licence was suspended, therefore he was also charged with Drive while Suspended. He was released to appear in court on the 26th of July, 2011 to answer to the charges.
