Thank you Akwesasne!

On Saturday, March 19th a benefit was held in support of Bill and Andreas Herne. This event was a great success, and will most surely ease the financial burden in their fight for wellness. We have witnessed Akwesasne’s true Mohawk heart, as friends, family and neighbors stopped by to partake of this season’s first chicken BBQ, drop off an item for the auction, buy tickets, bring in your gift of food, or lend a helping hand. Thanks go out to the American Legion 1479 and the ladies auxiliary for showing us the ropes. Special thanks to our kitchen helpers, (& those that just showed up) who worked at prepping, serving, taking orders, cleaning up, and delivering (Lillian, Craig, Karen, Brad, Toni, Erin, Lacey, Matt (“Zee”), Emily, Deb B, Debbie J, Tommy, Pete, Rosemary, Myra, D, Sally B, and Duck Bell who even washed dishes!). Much appreciation to Roger and the River Mohawks for their excellent entertainment ~ you made our night so much fun, you even got our little Bill up on the dance floor for a jig! Thanks to all who showed up for the dance and to anyone who shared of their time, effort, monetary donation or basket contribution, even those from far away.
