Snowman Challenge Last Monday night, after our regularly scheduled meeting, the AYL group went out and began the building of their snowman for the Community Snowman Challenge. Thanks to Ricardo, Nihahsennaa, Kaylynn, Karahkwentha, Tsionkie and Ienikonhriiostha for all your snowman building skills!
Old Fashion Box Social
The AYL group held their monthly fund raising activity at the Tsisnaihne Recreation on Sunday February 13, 2011. In the beginning, people didn’t seem to know what was going on but they got the hang of it and there was a lot of laughter as people began to outbid one another. There was a total of seven dinners and three Valentines gift baskets which were auctioned off. A special niawenhko:wa to Roger Mitchell who helped us out with his great auctioneer skills! Along with selling Valentines treats, the final total raised was $322.50. Niawenhko:wa to everyone who came out and supported us!
Traditional Teachings
Darrel Thompson will be doing traditional teachings classes with the youth on Mondays from 3:30-4:30pm. The AYL group will be joining Akwesasne Freedom School parents, teachers and students. Visiting youth will also be attending from the Mohawk community of Tyendinega.
Six Nations Youth Meeting
We are beginning to plan our trip to Cattauragus, New York where the next Six Nations Youth Meeting will be hosted by the Seneca people. All youth interested in attending must be present at AYL meetings.

Just a short reminder that all meetings take place at the St Regis Mohawk School on Monday evenings from 6-8PM. In case of a school closure, the meeting will take place at a different location. Call (518) 358-6191 for more information.
