Teen sent to prison in arson, rape

An Akwesasne teenager was sentenced to jail this week on two charges in two separate counties.

On Monday, a Franklin County Judge sentenced Jacob Stehlin, 19 to 1-3 years in jail for having sex with an underage girl(3rd degree rape) in Hogansburg in 2010. Stehlin had previously been released on probation for a St. Lawrence County arson that occurred in the town of Norfolk in 2008.

As a result of his Franklin County conviction, Stehlin violated the terms of his release on the 4th degree arson charge and was resentenced Tuesday in St. Lawrence County court. The judge sentenced Stehlin to 1-4 years in prison, which he will serve concurrently with his Franklin County sentence.
