Parents, grandparents and guardians of children in the Ahkwesahsne Mohawk Board of Education school district are going back in time this week and attending school. “Bring Your Parents to School Day” is held every year at the Tsi Snaihne School, Ahkwesahsne Mohawk School and Kana:takon School.
Tsi Snaihne School was the first of the three schools this week to participate, and parents spent Tuesday morning sitting side by side with their child or grandchild while teachers continued on with their (almost) regularly scheduled lessons. Activities were also planned that allowed parents and students to work together on different tasks and activities.
Bring Your Parents to School Day helps parents see firsthand what their child experiences throughout the day after they leave home every morning.
