Cory Michael Almond

HOGANSBURG – Mr. Cory Michael Almond, age 35, of 94 Jock Road, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday afternoon, October 18, 2010.

Cory was born July 16, 1975 in Malone the son of William and Gloria Robinson Almond.

He attended Salmon River Central School.

He was a self-employed mechanic, repairing small engines.  He also worked as a mechanic for various local businesses.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and motorcycles.  He also enjoyed spending time with his family.  He was also a jack-of-all trades and had a great sense of humor.

He is survived by his companion of 16 years, Lori Laffin; 2 children, Ryan Laffin, age 15, and Hattie Laffin Almond, age 7, both at home; his parents, William and Gloria Almond of Westville; his sisters, Lori Beaudoin and her husband, Greg of Massena; Lea-Ann Almond of Massena; his father and mother-in-law, Henry and Jean Laffin of Akwesasne; his companion’s siblings, Melanie and Daniel Musgrove of Malone; Colby Benedict and Tina Lauzon of Cornwall Island; Jordan Benedict and Jessica Swamp of Cornwall Island; and many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the All In Lounge, Route 37, Hogansburg, beginning 7:00 PM Thursday until 12:00 PM Friday.  A memorial mass will be celebrated Friday 1:00 PM at St. Francis of Assisi Church, Route 122, Constable with Rev. Francis J. Flynn, officiating.  Arrangements are with the Donaldson Funeral Home, Massena.
