PICEI 50/50 Winners

On Saturday, October 2, 2010, PICEI held its third annual “Last Shall Be First 50/50” at the First Americans IGA in Hogansburg. The organization raised $3,280.00 to support its scholarships and building fund. The amount raised was shared with the 50/50 winner, Jean Herne.

Volunteers who were involved were Viola Bass, Long Island Volunteer Director, Carl Patterson, Jr. Volunteer Executive Project Director, Jean Herne, Volunteer Mohawk Cultural Director, Betty Swamp, Volunteer Fund Raiser Coordinator, Lorraine George, Julianne Barnes, and friend of PICEI, Debra Gero of Malone.

Several big ticket item winners were: Louise Ghoram of the Bronx, New York who won an “Electric Fireplace” just in time for the winter that will soon be approaching. The electric fireplace was donated by Home Depot of Massena. Betty Swamp, whose ticket was the first one called, won a very large electric wok donated by PICEI.

The winner of the Lotto Tree was Janet Swamp of Akwesasne. Besides the 50/50 raffles there were many other items raffled off that night. Courtlan Green, Chrysetta Patterson, Rachel R. Rush and Florence Patterson donated many of the gifts. Among the gifts were the beautiful “Family Basket” which contained among the many items priceless collectable dolls, a silver ring, a genuine Opal ring, gold chain, and a Christmas electric lighted house, which was won by Betty Swamp.
