A Voice from the Eastern Door

Book: Burned

Author: P.C and Kristen Cast

Readers have yet another addition from the authors of the House of Night series that will leave you on edge. Although this, like the others, and just when you think that the series as finally come to a close, there’s an ending that’s sure to shock you. This book is one for fans of the series to enjoy.

As a continuation of the House of Night books, which follows the story of Zoey Redbird and her friends as they wait to change from fledgling to full vampires and their adventures along the way. Zoey and her friends all have special powers that allow them to control and wield the five elements, earth, wind, fire, water, and spirit. Zoey herself can use all five of the elements while her friends can only wield one each. The previous addition to the series ends with Zoey’s spirit being broken, literally. Zoey is then sent to a world for those just like her, a purgatory for lost spirits. As Zoey and her friends work to find a way to get her out of the spirit world, she struggles to find the ambition to get out, to fight her fears and resist the urge to just give in as she works out how to put her soul back together.

This book has many twists and turns that make it a riveting book. As always the Cast women have provided another great novel. I recommend to all, although it would be beneficial to have read the previous books.
