Notice to the Community

This is to inform the community that the following persons have applied for membership under the Akwesasne Membership Code.

Nathan Paul Sawatis, age 17, son of Paul Andrew Sawatis (Akwesasne) and Charla Burtenshaw, non-native.

Paul Buckshot-Savard, age16, son of Paul Henry Buckshot Jr. (Akwesasne) and Shannon Savard, non-native.

Owen Green, age 16, son of Rebecca Green (Akwesasne) and Robert Green (Six Nations).

Brettani Heroy, age 18, daughter of Dawn Lafrance (Akwesasne).

Brittany Boots, age 17, daughter of Peter Boots (Akwesasne) and Cindy Flaro Boots, non-native.

Chazz Oakes, age 18, Danielle Oakes (Akwesasne) and Christopher Homer (Kahnawake).

Tyler Hill, age 16, son of Pamela Laffin (Akwesasne) and Robert C. Hill (Six Nations).

Steven Jacobs, age 18, son of the late Cynceria Jacobs (Akwesasne).

Daylon-Phillip Francis-Vallieres, age 17, son of Jamie Francis (Akwesasne) and Natalie Vallieres Francis, non-native.

Laryssa Marie Cole, age 17, daughter of Damon Oakes (Akwesasne) and Carol Leroux, non-native.

Community members have until October 8, 2010 to indicate whether they wish to make submissions regarding the above applicants.

At a meeting of the Akwesasne Membership Board on September 18, the Board granted full membership to Kaitlyn Graffis, Amanda Garrow, Tieara Lafrance, Alexandra Johnson and Shenae Tarbell.

At the Board’s September 25 meeting, the Membership Board granted membership to Julia Katsitsienhawi Benedict and Lawrence White and granted a Residency Permit to Francis James Ingle.

Community members wishing to appeal the Membership Board’s decisions on the above applicants have 30 days to appeal to the Council of Elders.
