Tribal police arrest armed suspect

On September 13, 2010 at approximately 7:25 pm, patrols yielded a Ford Windstar Van traveling at a high rate of speed on Cook Rd.; the vehicle also had no rear plate. While talking to driver, officers noticed a shotgun beside the driver’s leg, and a large bowie knife. Another rifle was also observed on the passenger seat.

The driver put up his window and refused to obey officer’s orders to exit the vehicle. Officers then broke the driver’s window and were forced to use pepper spray to subdue the suspect. After suspect was checked out by Mohawk Council Ambulance Unit, suspect tried to flee, but was apprehended by officers.

Mr. Victor J. Lazore, age 24 of Akwesasne, NY was charged with the following:

* Obstructing Governmental Administration 2nd

* Resisting arrest

* Harassment 2nd, Physical Contact

* Criminal possession weapon 3 – previous conviction

* No plate display – violation

Mr. Lazore was taken to Massena Memorial Hospital for treatment of minor injuries. He was later arraigned in Bombay Town Court and released on $1,000 bail.
