The Redmen celebrate a goal.
The summer long lacrosse season of the Three Nations Senior B Lacrosse League wrapped up Monday evening when the Cornwall Island Redmen defeated the Snake Island Muskies 10-3 in a best of 5 series.
The Muskies won the championship trophy in the first two seasons of the TNLL but the Redmen finally had enough this season. In the five-game playoff series, the Redmen won three games in a row to end the competition.
In the final game, Redmen goal scorers were Jarret Jacobs with three goals and the following players with one goal each: Dwight Bero Jr., Neal Hopps, Tyson Oakes, Darcy Powless, Max Shea, Brandon Swamp and Trevin Thompson. Assists were made by Jerome Thompson (4) Jarret Jacobs (3), and Neal Hopps, Josh Jacobs, Tyson Oakes, Darcy Powless, Brandon Swamp and Trevin Thompson with one each.
From the Muskies bench, goal scorers in the final game were Kariwate Mitchell with two, and Curry Rice with one. Assists were made by Phil Boots and Raweras Mitchell.
