A Voice from the Eastern Door

Congratulations to the students who competed in the Native American Science and Engineering Fair cross country competition in Albuquerque, New Mexico last week March 10-14, 2010 at the Albuquerque convention center. All of these students from Akwesasne’s school districts competed last year to go on to Albuquerque for trophy awards and monetary awards against a few hundred other students in and above their science categories grade 6 through 12. As part of their trip there were special outings planned: a visit to old town and a visit to sky city in Acoma, NM-Pueblo country, Albuquerque Aquarium. On behalf of the parents who went along on this trip I would like to thank the chaperones Mr. Schrader and Mrs. Levac for an memorable trip and to the students without your creativeness and imagination this wouldn’t have been possible, and to all the personnel from the school districts who made all of this possible. These kids worked very hard on these projects and deserve the recognition, so if you see one these students in and around Akwesasne please congratulate them they truly deserve it. Good job kids.
