A Voice from the Eastern Door
Several members standing in front of the Coliseum in Rome, Italy in the Italian (Colosseo) The group traveled from there to France, Spain, Gibraltar, the Canary Islands, and Morocco, and after crossing the equator, sailed to Brazil, Barbados, and Dominica. During PICEI’s travels to the three continents, they found that in every country the people loved learning about the Mohawk Nation’s culture. This trip made for a wonderful cultural experience.

Pamoja International Cultural Exchange Inc. (PICEI) has returned from their 21 day transcontinental cultural cruise. From ancient Rome in Italy to the rain forests in Dominica, 24 members from northern New York traveled. This truly was an unforgettable cultural experience. PICEI held two seminars while on board ship, which focused around developing cultural competency. Our own ambassadors Jean Herne, Betty Swamp, Debbie Thomas, and Ted Jacobs were among the presenters. Everyone who attended was impressed with the information and the activities.
