A Voice from the Eastern Door

Salmon River Hockey girls compete in last home game

The Salmon River Girls Varsity hockey team were in a competition against Chazy on January 22, at Tom Cavanaugh Arena in Fort Covington.  Unfortunately for the Salmon River girls, they fell to Chazy on a score of 2-1.

The goal for the Shamrocks came late in the third period from Toni Garrow with help from Savannah Francis.

On a happier note, parents were present to receive flowers from their daughters as appreciation for all their support throughout high school. The three seniors that were honored were Krista Oakes, Alicia Thomas and Toni Garrow.  Sometimes, this occasion is emotional to the players as it will be leading toward their final hockey games as a Shamrock skater.

On Friday, the girls will travel to Alex Bay for their season finale.
